When is the Best Time to Throw a Baby Shower

A baby shower is a celebration held to announce someone's pregnancy. It can be hosted by family members, relatives, friends, co-workers or just anyone who knows the soon-to-be parents.

When is the Right Time to Hold a Baby Shower

There are a lot of considerations to take note of in throwing a baby shower. One of the most important is the time when to hold it. So when exactly is the best time to hold a baby shower for a mom-to-be?

Adoptive Parents Gets to Celebrate it During

Usually, adoptive parents hold baby showers during the exact arrival or just a few days or weeks after the arrival of their adopted child.

Biological Parents and the Usual Time of Baby Showering

Biological parents can be given a baby shower party depending on different factors. If they're traditional ones, only the first-born child gets to be celebrated with a baby shower, since that's the norm during the olden times. And it's usually held at the last stage of pregnancy, also known as the third trimester. This is estimated to be within a month or two before the predicted delivery date.

Other moms wish that the baby shower gets to be held about two to three months before the due date. This is for the practicality of it. It will allow them to shop only for baby supplies that they did not receive during the baby shower. Not a bad idea, really.

Why? When the Child is Already Here

Others who wish to throw a shower wait until the childbirth. Some times about one or two months after delivery are left to pass before holding the shower. There are different reasons for this. One is if the mother is having a difficult pregnancy. Logically, there are some moms who have hard time during pregnancy that they can be bedridden. This will prevent them from enjoying the baby shower fully since she may not be able to participate in the games and other activities. Another reason is if the mothers religion does not consent of having a shower before the childbirth. Some would like to make sure of the child's gender, this is for making sure that the gifts suit the child. Some would simply like to be able to see the child while holding the shower.

Whenever the Host Find it Suitable

There are friends who can't be there during one formal baby shower. During this situation, there can always be second or even third baby showers. It depends on the availability of these close people.
