Baby Shower Games To Play

Baby showers would not be complete without baby shower games to play for the guests. This is the part of the program that is perhaps the most memorable and exciting experience days before the baby is born. However, before the host starts with the baby shower games, it would be best that the guests have a good introduction with everybody else in the room so that they can share ideas about the mother to be. This will serve as a good technique in winning the baby shower games prepared by the host of the event. To help you out in the planning of these baby shower games, here is a list of some good ideas you might want to consider.

Guessing Mommy To Be's Tummy Size

This game is a favorite baby shower activity. The materials needed in this game are yarn or string and a pair of scissors for each participant. Instruct the participants to pull their yarn to the size that they believe would perfectly match the size of the center of the pregnant tummy. Once they've finished estimating the size, start comparing the results to the actual tummy of the mommy to be and whoever has the closest size to the actual one gets a prize.

Name As Many Baby Items As You Can

This is definitely an easy game to play. The materials needed include a piece of paper and a pen for every woman. The mechanics of the game is having each woman write on a piece of paper provided names of baby products as many as they can such as baby bottles, pacifiers, rattles, diapers, and many more. This game is only to last for five minutes and the prize will be given to the one who has the most number of baby products named.

Guess The Chocolate

If you want a game that is a surefire way for great laughs, then this is the one made for you. The materials needed are five to ten diapers coupled with five to ten different kinds of chocolates. Before the game, have the chocolates melted and place each one on the diaper for everyone to view as the game progresses. Mark every diaper with A, B, C and so on then have the guests guess which chocolate is in each diaper. For a more added thrill, choose chocolates that have toffee, caramel or nuts in it. Whoever guesses right gets the prize.

Baby Tunes

The materials that you need for this baby shower game include a CD or cassette player. Collect CDs or cassettes with baby songs and have them played for the guests to name the tune that is being played. You will see who among your guests get to name the song the quickest. The guest who guesses the most baby song tunes the quickest wins the game. It is also a fun way to work with teams and keeping score.

Bottle Race

You will need baby bottles and milk or any other alternative drink that your guests will love. Fill the bottles with a drink and let your guests drink them just the way a baby would. Whoever gets to drink the most in a time that is allotted for the game wins the baby shower prize. This game will surely get everyone laughing!

Baby Shower Lotto

The materials that you will need for this activity include a calendar where the month dates are large enough to read, highlighter pens and normal pens. This is how the game will be played: have the calendar of the month of due date of the mother to be at the front of the door for the guests to notice when they arrive. Highlight the due date so that the guests will have an idea of the date and time to choose. Each day will be divided into two parts namely AM and PM for the guests to choose for picking the date as well as the general time that the baby will be born.

Guests will have the chance to "buy in" to a lotto ticket for particular day that they think the baby will be born. When purchasing the lotto tickets, you can tell the guests to give other things rather than money as exchange for the lotto tickets such as baby stuff that can be useful for the parents to be. Of course, the prize will be given to that person having the closest guess after the baby is born.
